Ostinato - Wangaratta's Community Choir
Singing makes us happy! Come join us!
Singing in a choir is so much fun and what’s more its so good for your health! Ostinato is a group of people from all walks of life…. the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, well sort of!! But importantly we join together on a Tuesday night at 7pm at the log cabin in Wangaratta (corner Chisholm and Faithful Street) and sing and laugh and learn about music and strive to make musically good sounds.
Music, friendship, acceptance and fun really sums it up.

Things We Do
Up coming Xmas Concert
Join us for an afternoon of joyful Xmas music. We celebrate the festive season with songs old and new and some for you to sing along too and exercise those vocal chords!! Date: Sunday December 1st at 2:00 PM at the Oxley Hall.
Fun Performances
We have two major concerts per year midyear and at Xmas , as we are a community choir we also sing at the care homes and other community events. We love singing, so just ask us we’ll come along.
Tenors and Basses Camaraderie
The Basses are the foundation of the choir, and we love the musical sounds they make. The Tenors are special too, but its the basses that bring the timtams to supper!! We love that!!
Some of the People You Will Meet in Our Choir
Ruth HillNoble is our musical director who usually refers to herself as the arm waver. Her true role is to lead our choir with an unwavering passion for music, especially community choral music that welcomes everyone. She inspires and motivates each member to share their talents and strive for their best, fostering an environment where we can all come together to create beautiful music.
Sandy Williams is the our incredible accompanist who plays the piano alongside our choir, and we are thrilled to have play with us. As she says, she has to get her fingers around all of the music, she then helps us learn and then she plays for our concerts. It’s tricky to play with a choir, because sometimes the choir doesn’t behave…and it takes a cool head to rein the choir in or catch up to them and keep going like nothing weird happened. We love Sandy and thank her for playing with us.
Seriously we could go on about how good singing is for your body and brain and how it generates endorphins ( those feel good hormones) but we can just invite you to join us and experience the joy of singing in a community that values collaboration and personal growth. Together, we can create beautiful music and lasting memories and have fun. Welcome to Ostinato, Wangaratta’s Community Choir, where every voice truly matters.
